Teferi, a 22-year-old young man, has become an admired entrepreneur in the village of Hadnet, Ethiopia. He is a beneficiary of BEE-LIEVE, a project funded by the EU and Oxfam to help 12,000 women and landless youth become professional beekeepers.<\/p>\n

Teferi tried many times to emigrate illegally to Arab countries in order to escape the harsh reality of the Tigray region, one of the driest in the world. 15 young men from his area drowned in the Mediterranean as they sought to find hope abroad. BEE-LIEVE is an attempt to create opportunities for Tigrayan youths in their own homeland.<\/p>\n
