On 12 September, his supporters declared victory.<\/p>\n<p>It was confirmed that <a href=\"https:\/\/samidoun.net\/2022\/09\/after-37-days-of-hunger-strike-adal-musa-secures-his-freedom-in-victory\/\">Adal will be released<\/a> from detention later in 2022. Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network tweeted:<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"8YOgLBS9ZMbET63qdVlysmjQHu\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">After 37 days of hunger strike, Adal Musa secures his freedom in\u00a0victory <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/V94Un2ZR5p\">https:\/\/t.co\/V94Un2ZR5p<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Samidoun Network (@SamidounPP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SamidounPP\/status\/1569392189402128389?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 12, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Adal is being held without charge in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.addameer.org\/content\/offer-prison\">Ofer military prison<\/a> near Ramallah in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. His detention without trial is part of a system which the Israeli state calls &#8216;administrative detention&#8217;. He has two children, and he comes from the village of Al-Khader which is close to Bethlehem. He has spent a total of seven years in Israel&#8217;s colonial prisons.<\/p>\n<p>Adal&#8217;s successful action against his imprisonment in Israeli administrative detention follows the <a href=\"https:\/\/samidoun.net\/2022\/09\/palestinian-prisoner-ahmad-musa-defeats-the-jailer-after-33-days-of-hunger-strike\/\">victory of his brother Ahmad Musa<\/a> on 8 September. It also rides the wave which began with the <a href=\"https:\/\/samidoun.net\/2022\/08\/victory-for-khalil-awawdeh-palestinian-prisoner-suspends-hunger-strike-to-be-released-2-october\/\">historic victory of administrative detainee Khalil Awawdeh<\/a>. Khalil&#8217;s hunger strike lasted 182 days &#8211; and almost lead to his death. Israeli authorities have confirmed that he will be released on 2 October.<\/p>\n<p>Khalil, Adal, and Ahmad were just three of the <a href=\"https:\/\/addameer.org\/\">almost 750 administrative detainees<\/a> held in Israeli prisons. Those held without charge are just part of a total of nearly 5000 Palestinians Israel has imprisoned.<\/p>\n<h2>Escalating the work of liberation<\/h2>\n<p>Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network congratulated Adal:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network salutes Adal Musa for his courage, resistance and leadership, and the defeat he imposed on the jailer, and urges the liberation of all 4,650 Palestinian prisoners in the jails of the occupier. This is an opportunity for all of us to escalate our work to liberate all of the nearly 5,000 Palestinian prisoners in occupation prisons and all of Palestine, from the river to the sea.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Adal and Ahmad Musa&#8217;s victory clearly rode on the self-sacrifice and steadfastness of Khalil Awawdeh. No to administrative detention!<\/p>\n<p>We are a people who have a just cause that will remain a just cause, and we will always stand against administrative detention, this injustice, even if the skin is gone, even if the bone deteriorates, even if the soul is gone.<\/p>\n<p>Be assured, be confident, that we have the right and our cause is just, regardless of the high price paid.<\/p>\n<p>Bless you and peace be upon you.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Israeli authorities claim that they will release Khalil, Adal, and Ahmad, but for now they remain in the hands of the enemy. It&#8217;s important we don&#8217;t forget about them.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s clear that Khalil&#8217;s bravery in the face of the Israeli prison system is already emboldening other Palestinian prisoners.
