WASHINGTON – The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights today launched a new resource highlighting a list of priority initiatives for the Biden-Harris administration and the 117th Congress. The webpage, available here, outlines the current state of civil rights and recommendations that represent a path forward.

“Over the last four years, we have faced demagoguery, fearmongering, racism, and xenophobia from those in power,” said Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference. “Despite the pandemic and deliberate barriers to the ballot, more than 160 million people voted, shattering records. The country is in need of a course correction, and the new administration and Congress must act immediately. The Leadership Conference coalition provides this list of priorities to ensure civil and human rights are protected and advanced.”

Notably, The Leadership Conference, together with its 11 task forces, urge the Biden-Harris administration to take swift and robust administrative action in the first 100 days, including providing fair COVID-19 relief, advancing judicial nominees who will protect civil rights and reversing anti-immigration legislation.
