{"id":948432,"date":"2023-01-07T00:26:29","date_gmt":"2023-01-07T00:26:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dissidentvoice.org\/?p=136737"},"modified":"2023-01-07T00:26:29","modified_gmt":"2023-01-07T00:26:29","slug":"the-secret-history-of-a-riot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radiofree.asia\/2023\/01\/07\/the-secret-history-of-a-riot\/","title":{"rendered":"The Secret History of a Riot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 800-page gorilla of a report from the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the Capitol seems strangely silent on a few matters that, apparently, were a bit too uncomfortable for the Committee to take on.<\/p>\n<p>So, buckle up for a discomfiting ride with our investigative team that has been tracking the insurrectionists for years before the Insurrection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rioters on the GOP Payroll<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, the Committee did acknowledge our report that, days <em>before <\/em>the January 6 storming of the Capitol, Trump \u2018bro Ali Alexander, riot instigator, declared,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Either they take Trump, prove that they won, or we\u2019re not going to hand them back the country again \u2014 right? Roberts captured Alexander\u2019s threat, made at a small rally outside the Georgia State House. (Roberts, a specialist at infiltrating right-wing groups, has been tracking Alexander for years\u2014something you\u2019d think the FBI would be doing.)<\/p>\n<p>What the Committee left out: We discovered that Alexander was brought to Georgia by the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the Georgia Republican Party for their get-out-the-vote drive for the Senate run-off races that was to be held on January 5, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>And here\u2019s the stunner: Alexander was brought in by the GOP on January 3, 2021, that is, <em>after<\/em> he made his threat to burn down government buildings and after he promised a \u201criot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Watch Roberts\u2019 video:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"GOP Operative: \u201cWe\u2019ll light the whole sh*t on fire!\u201d\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3vCSIEUkuK4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why did Cops NOT Seal the Crime Scene and Bust the Rioters?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For <a href=\"https:\/\/gregpalast.us4.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=33e4ec877eed6a43863a4a92e&amp;id=cabc7bddd9&amp;e=10452e0f3a\"  rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/gregpalast.us4.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3D33e4ec877eed6a43863a4a92e%26id%3Dcabc7bddd9%26e%3D10452e0f3a&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1673136488208000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0SVGHlkz2-6KAXX0kuwqnG\"><em>Law &amp; Crime<\/em><\/a> we investigated a curiosity, a frightening curiosity:\u00a0 The official police procedure manual and the FBI manual and long-standard operating procedure nationwide requires that in the event of crime involving injury, <em>the crime scene must be sealed and all possible suspects and witnesses held<\/em> until they are identified, evidence collected, and suspects \u2018cuffed and booked.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, in an utterly astonishing violation of protocols and rules, the Capitol attackers\u2013criminals all\u2013were given a free pass out of the building.<\/p>\n<p>The cops did everything but give them a 21-gun salute.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI, Capitol Police and DC Police simply allowed the criminals to leave.\u00a0 Officers did not take names and they did not take their cell-phones filled with incriminating selfies and texts. Remember, this is a <em>murder scene<\/em>\u2026 and they let witnesses and perpetrators simply waltz away.<\/p>\n<p>When a stray bullet broke the window of my local bar, every person in the bar, in the entire building, was required to stay until cops took down all names as potential witnesses.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, with the nation\u2019s Capitol seized, why was no one stopped, photographed, booked or simply had their name taken as they were escorted out?\u00a0 The Committee seemed uninterested.<\/p>\n<p>Why? A serious inquiry would have to ask uncomfortable questions about infiltration of the police by ultra-right elements.\u00a0 The Committee would have had to investigate \u201cblue sympathy\u201d for white supremacists.<\/p>\n<p>In the prior uber-right rallies at the Capitol held in the weeks leading up to January 6, Roberts witnessed cops fist-bumping Proud Boys and allowing them up the Capitol steps (where even our credentialed team is not allowed to tread).<\/p>\n<p>While the Select Committee looked into the Capital break-in, they seemed oddly uninterested in the successful, police-sanctioned getaway.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The White House \u2013 and Trump Knew the March was Illegal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Insider: \u201cTrump Knew March was Illegal and Dangerous\u201d\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gpHDHZOpUKk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Working with <em>Consortium News<\/em>, the Palast team was able to obtain copies of the text messages between members of the group that sponsored Trump\u2019s speech.\u00a0 The texts are shockers.\u00a0 The organizers of the group, while pro-Trump throw-out-the-vote true believers, nevertheless were afraid that after Trump spoke at the Ellipse, Ali Alexander would lead an illegal march to the Capitol.<\/p>\n<p>The group, Women for America First, had promised in writing to the Park Service that they would \u201cnot conduct an organized march from the Ellipse.\u201d\u00a0 Such a march would be incredibly dangerous as, without planning or permit, there would be no police guard, no barricades, no monitors, no control, no warning.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gregpalast.us4.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=33e4ec877eed6a43863a4a92e&amp;id=cc967ac54e&amp;e=10452e0f3a\"  rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/gregpalast.us4.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u%3D33e4ec877eed6a43863a4a92e%26id%3Dcc967ac54e%26e%3D10452e0f3a&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1673136488208000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0gqP6G9f0D2BrLLGiCgoyo\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"CToWUd\" src=\"https:\/\/ci5.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/zoun9KU8-ItZijtrVsU3SsqWaKqMsTEsMBV9pPz-QfAZpvvPUQGruF-D6Sl_PF48YPaWM7qCuXjRUmoWl8WACXR9d8kv5heTBDrodHDzqa27N4k8Pe3yPcU0ackEV271tgvW6lUa57IzTVFcmHdisgrQVUHoLQ=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/33e4ec877eed6a43863a4a92e\/images\/822af780-5b5b-f060-d4a3-6503c8b02082.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"182\" data-bit=\"iit\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"CToWUd a6T\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ci5.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/8Fyg11phUuNg2xCE5sicl_EEePRGGGhy6f02J0cQDY4YS6CZszoZ9EyL8uQ48Mp3UzToXDjeWZG6dGzn-WKtXujyREl7QVD2qD6SCGPRgVtEFf5gFwQgzqLpXyuOXONV9I-wP0IDp60BH2eI9xbLMJMX3K8BqA=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/33e4ec877eed6a43863a4a92e\/images\/09ecb60f-043e-79a5-8438-961fdce4bfbc.png\" width=\"320\" height=\"185\" align=\"right\" data-bit=\"iit\" \/><\/div>\n<p>A march was not only illegal; it was also obvious it would lead to an attack on the Capitol.\u00a0 According to one rally planner, \u201cI mean, it was shocking. It\u2019s something we advocated against doing for exactly the reasons that ended up playing themselves out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What they didn\u2019t figure on is that the illegal march would be announced by none other than President Trump himself\u2014though the insiders insisted they had admonished the White House about their promise to the Park Service and police.<\/p>\n<p>Trump, by setting off the march, is directly culpable for the effect of his call.\u00a0 Furthermore, Alexander\u2014who led the march alongside Alex Jones, said that he was told by Caroline Wren, Trump\u2019s campaign finance advisor, to start the march from the parking lot behind the Ellipse.
