{"id":99539,"date":"2021-03-30T08:21:47","date_gmt":"2021-03-30T08:21:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thecanary.co\/?p=1210344"},"modified":"2021-03-30T08:21:47","modified_gmt":"2021-03-30T08:21:47","slug":"proportion-of-problem-gamblers-seeking-help-rises","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radiofree.asia\/2021\/03\/30\/proportion-of-problem-gamblers-seeking-help-rises\/","title":{"rendered":"Proportion of problem gamblers seeking help rises"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The proportion of \u201cproblem gamblers\u201d seeking treatment increased significantly over the last year, a study has found.<\/p>\n<h5>Epidemic<\/h5>\n<p>More than six in 10 (63%) problem gamblers said they had used some form of treatment, advice, or support in the past 12 months, compared with just over half (54%) in November 2019, according to GambleAware\u2019s second annual GB Treatment and Support survey.<\/p>\n<p>The charity welcomed the findings as \u201cencouraging\u201d, especially during the pandemic, when rates of online gambling have soared.
