A purported video of a man and woman being shot down by a police officer in broad daylight is making the rounds on WhatsApp. In the video, after a brief quarrel, the police officer takes out his gun, shoots down the man and the woman cries and hurls abuses at the officer. Later, the officer fires another bullet and shoots down the woman while the bystanders gather around them.
Alt News has received several requests on its official WhatsApp number (+917600011160) to fact-check the video.

Fact-check
Upon watching the video closely, Alt News could spot the board of Friends Cafe in the background. It’s located in Karnal, Haryana. We matched the facade of the cafe on Google photos (right) to confirm the location. In a conversation with Alt News, the cafe’s owner said that a dramatic scene was being filmed outside.
We were also able to contact Vinay Kuhar who plays the cop in the scene. He said, “My friends have brought it to my notice that the video is going viral on social media. It’s a video of a rehearsal. Someone from the bystanders watching the shoot might have made the clip.” When asked about the name of the yet-to-be-released web series, he said that it hasn’t been finalised at the moment. He further identified two other actors seen in the scene as “Shweta Sinha and Dev”. We also checked the Facebook profile of the actor. He has posted several photos where he can be seen donning the police uniform.
Moreover, shooting equipment placed in a corner can be spotted in one of the frames.
