In a video released on the eve of the 20th anniversary, Biden said, “We honor all those who risked and gave their lives in the minutes, hours, months, and years afterward. No matter how much time has passed, these commemorations bring everything painfully back as if you just got the news a few seconds ago.” “We learned that unity is the one thing that must never break,” he added.

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth has sent a message to Mr. Biden saying that her prayers remained with victims and survivors of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States and paid tribute to the communities that joined together to rebuild after the devastation.
“My thoughts and prayers, and those of my family and the entire nation, remain with the victims, survivors, and families affected, as well as the first responders and rescue workers called to duty,” the Queen said.
Taking to Twitter, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Saturday, the terrorists behind the execution of the 9/11 attacks in the United States failed to shake the belief of people in freedom and democracy.
“Today we remember the 2,977 people taken from us on September 11th, 2001,” Johnson said in his video message posted on the micro-blogging platform. “But while the terrorists imposed their burden of grief and suffering, we can now say with the perspective of 20 years that they failed to shake our belief in freedom and democracy,” he said.
