Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn will accuse both prime minister Rishi Sunak and Labour Party leader Keir Starmer of failing to present adequate political programmes to help overcome challenges faced by communities in the UK.
Corbyn: Sunak and Starmer have failed
Speaking at his Peace and Justice Project’s 5 Demands conference at Hamilton House in London, Corbyn will set out a series of policies to defeat the “plight” of poverty wages, bring energy companies into public ownership to overcome the climate crisis and “save the NHS” with a wealth tax on the wealthiest individuals and corporations.
Corbyn will also call on “this government or the next” to undertake the biggest council house building programme in a generation to bring an end to the housing crisis, as well as ending the “scapegoating” of refugees by building a “humane migration system based on dignity, compassion and care.”
In his speech, Jeremy Corbyn will say that the political establishment in both Labour and the Conservatives have “failed to rise to the seriousness of the challenges faced by communities up and down the country”. Corbyn will also say that the UK government will “remain complicit in the slaughter of innocent Palestinians” unless it ends arms sales to Israel and “engages with the mass movement for peace”

The event will be held this Saturday 13 April at Hamilton House in Central London. It starts at 10am with panels on the 5 Demands:

- Green New Deal with Public Ownership.
- Housing for All.
- Tax the Rich to Save the NHS.
- Welcome Refugees in A World Free from War.
