Maneesh Sethi, a computer programmer from San Francisco, has now grabbed much attention for his Craigslist ad for a slapper that he posted back in 2012.

Indian-American man Maneesh Sethi who founded a brand of wearable devices called Pavlok, hired Klara for $8 per hour, to monitor his computer screen and slap him every time he opened the networking website.

In his 2012 advertisement for the job, Sethi had written, “when I am wasting time, you’ll have to yell at me or if need be, slap me.”

Sethi apparently found out that he was spending close to 30 hours a week on Facebook and other social media sites that ate over 38 percent of his workweek, according to a report by HuffPost. After hiring Klara, Sethi told HuffPost that his productivity increased by 98 percent! During that process, Sethi actually got slapped quite a few times by his professional slapper.

Other than being famous on Twitter, something else happened that led Sethi to question if this was the highest he could ever reach.

A tweet describing Sethi’s solution to excessive social media addiction was noticed by Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who reacted to the post. Sethi also took note of Musk’s reply and expressed his excitement in a reply.

“I’m the guy in this picture. Is @elonmusk giving me two emojis the highest I’ll ever reach? Is this my Icarus flying too close to the sun moment? Was that implied by the fire symbols Elon posted? Time will tell,” he replied.

Since most of us are guilty of using social media a bit too much, would you hire a professional slapper to help you increase your productivity? Let us know in the comments!
