According to BBC, YouTube said on Sunday it had barred Sky News Australia from uploading new content for one week, citing concerns about Covid-19 misinformation.

The move comes after a review of posts uploaded by the Rupert Murdoch-owned TV channel, which has a substantial online presence with 1.85 million YouTube subscribers.

YouTube did not point to specific items but said it opposed material that “could cause real-world harm”. It issued a “strike” under its three-strike policy, the last of which means permanent removal.

“We have clear and established Covid-19 medical misinformation policies to prevent the spread of Covid-19 misinformation that could cause real-world harm,” a YouTube statement said.

Sky News confirmed the temporary ban and the TV channel’s digital editor said the decision was a disturbing attack on the ability to think freely.

The last YouTube upload, from three days ago, features a host claiming that lockdowns have failed and criticizing state authorities for extending Sydney’s current stay-at-home orders.

Youtube has banned several channels over the past two years for spreading misinformation regarding Covid-19.

US scientists discovered that TSPL Protein can reduce weight by eliminating fat through Sweat.

A team of experts at the University of Pennsylvania is conducting research on the treatment of diabetes by studying a protein in the immune system, Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin (TSLP).

TSLP has been linked to asthma and a variety of allergies, but some recent research has shown that the same protein regulates the body’s energy use, i.e. metabolism.

This led to the idea that this protein may also help in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. To test this hypothesis, Experts began further research. This research proves that TSPL is helpful in controlling blood sugar levels and helps minimize the severity of Type-2 diabetes. This research surprisingly revealed that the same protein also excretes fat from sweat which helps in reducing weight and obesity.

According to the experts, this is the first time that a protein belonging to the immune system has been found to cause fat excretion in sweat.

However, they also point out that there is still a long way to go before TSLP can lead to formal treatment for obesity or diabetes because of the negative effects of high levels of this protein in the body.

Experts are now conducting further research to understand the practical mechanism of TSLP in controlling obesity and diabetes and to move towards a new drug or treatment that is effective as well as minimal side effects.

Note: This research is published online in the research journal “Science”.

  • Bashir Hotak, Kabul,

The Doha talks between United States and Taliban was reached to peace deal, its included the withdrawal of US troops and release of captured Talibans.

The Taliban are bound on several clauses such of them were not to attack and capture cities and major highways, immediate twitch inter-Afghan dialogue with Afghan authorities and an immediate ceasefire or at least a reduction of war intensity, but all this did not happen accordingly as Doha peace deal talks and intensity increases.

Taliban occupy dozens of districts as US troops withdrew from Afghanistan, and spectrum of war now extended in civilian territory.

Taliban fighters have seized hundreds of districts and commercial ports in some parts of the country.

While Spin Boldak- Durand Line, Sher Khan-Tajik border, two ports in Herat province, Turgundai, and commercial ports of Islam Qila and Abu Nasr Farahi in Farah province.

Meanwhile Afghan security forces are conducting special operations to bring these commercial ports back under government control, a month has passed US forces withdrew; Talibans are still in control on these ports.

According to Afghan Finance Ministry website, annual import and export from these five ports animatedly generates 70billion revenue and that was directly deposited in government treasury.

An important question raised that how and where Taliban fighters will use this ports revenue, Afghan experts were expressing their concerns that Taliban-controlled trade routes are no longer crowded and some business communities are reluctant to take out their assets from these ports due to insecurity.Taliban are actively control these ports and receiving large sums of money.

According to national news agency, Zabihullah Mujahid Taliban spokesman in Afghanistan, told that we collect taxes in a very systematic manner and generate revenue. In past this revenue annually deposited in treasury but now Taliban collects this revenue.

The spokesman also said that Taliban have occupied more than two hundred districts in the country where millions of civilians need basic infrastructure, health facilities, education system and transport while Taliban keenly look forward for development of infrastructure and welfare of these citizens from this revenue.

On the other side Analysts overseeing the Afghan situation have a lot of reservations on Taliban controlled ports, they said that Taliban have no credibility, if they were sincere with Afghans and  wants development on public welfare. They would not damage infrastructure while bombed hospitals, clinics, schools and government buildings in these districts even more that Taliban allow mass to looting public buildings in their control territory.

If Taliban are sincere to the people, they should declare a ceasefire immediately, Analysts demanded.

Some analysts highlight weak government policies and corruption in institutions and fear that revenue could be used for war. Once again Afghanistan grips in a series of wars that has entered in civilian territory.

Analyst added that Taliban may spend money on arms purchases and bear foreign fighters’ expenses, including food and shelter. How much truth in this has not been confirmed by any source.

Analyst said that it is noteworthy that NATO coalition forces withdrew in 2014 from Afghanistan, Taliban began occupying some districts. Electricity and utility bills imposed in areas under their control. News circulating that Taliban fighters not only continued to collect electricity bills from the citizens of these areas, but also collect usher and zakat, every farmer is bound to pay one tenth of their crop, food from the common residents including monthly protection money from mobile towers has been taken by force.

For the past three years, Taliban collects toll tax and inter-provincial tax from freight vehicles on major highways. On average they collect 15,000 to 30,000 (Afghan currency) per vehicle.

However, all this happened under nose of the government. The Government forces targets these Taliban controlled toll tax check posts from land and conduct several air strikes. However, after few days, Taliban regains these check posts and re-imposes taxes and recovery process.

Interestingly, truck drivers, owners, traders and government officials, are forced to pay taxes, otherwise they are not allowed to move on these trade routes. Due to taxing to two different elements Taliban forces and Government authorities, the value of commodities increases, which directly affect ordinary Afghans.

According to a report, compared to 2017, food prices in Afghanistan have increased by 70% while the graph of poverty has also risen up.

Tax collection check posts set up by Taliban fighters on the highway north of the capital Kabul at Dand Ghauri in Baghlan Province and on the highway from Kabul to the northeastern provinces at Jir Khoshk in Baghlan Province, from Kabul. Roads leading to the southern areas have been set up in Muqur area of Ghazni province.

There are lot of unanswered questions left behind about where, how and in what way the money spend by Taliban.

Anne Kelly, a psychiatrist at Trinity College Dublin, said that after waking up in the morning, spends eighty-five percent of the time in different work to keep active. This activeness can give benefits while increasing memory, keeps blood vessels healthy, and improving the body’s immune system.

Growing age can fade the memory. Exercise not only increases the brain volume but also slows down if it is declining. This has been confirmed by MRI and other medical procedures.

The brain needs blood and it accounts for two to three percent of the body’s weight and uses fifteen percent of the body’s blood supply. Exercise reduces the fat in blood vessels and improves blood circulation. In this way, the brain functions in an orderly manner, and the memory remains strong.

The third benefit is that the body’s natural defense system improves with exercise and thus we can avoid many diseases.

Instagram introduces new safety features to keep young users safe from unwanted adults. Through a press release, Instagram owner company Facebook has announced these new safety features.

It’s making new accounts private by default for kids under 16, blocking some adults from interacting with teens on its platform, and restricting how advertisers can target teenagers.

The changes come as the Facebook-owned photo-sharing app is under pressure from lawmakers, regulators, parents and child-safety advocates worried about the impact of social media on kids’ safety, privacy, and mental health.

Karina Newton, Instagram’s head of public policy, told NPR that the changes announced on Tuesday are aimed at creating “age-appropriate experiences” and helping younger users navigate the social network.

Starting this week, when kids under 16 join Instagram, their accounts will be made private automatically, meaning their posts will only be visible to people they allow to follow them. Teens that already have public Instagram accounts will see notifications about the benefits of private accounts and how to switch.

Instagram is also taking steps to prevent what it calls “unwanted contact from adults.” It says adults who, while not breaking Instagram’s rules, have shown “potentially suspicious behavior”, such as if they’ve been blocked or reported by young people, will have limited ability to interact with and follow teens.

“We want to ensure that teens have an extra barrier of protection around them out of an abundance of caution,” Newton said.

Facebook is also changing the rules for advertisers on Instagram as well as its namesake app and its Messenger app. Starting in a few weeks, they will be able to target people under 18 with ads based only on age, gender, and location, but not other information the company tracks, such as users’ interests or habits on its own apps or other apps that share data with the company.

Facebook and Instagram also say they are working on better methods of verifying users’ ages, so they can determine when policies for teens should apply, and do a better job of keeping kids under 13 off the apps.

Many experts believe that the smartphone can be used for useful purposes after the hardware changes. Now the news is circulating that experts from South Korea have successfully experimented with the use of smartphones as thermometers.

The Korean institute of science and technology has developed a government-funded, cost-efficient, and effective thermal imaging sensor that works perfectly up to 100 degrees Celsius. The thermometer can also be added to the phone by attaching it to the smartphone camera.

Temperature sensing sensors are becoming more common in the context of the epidemic. They are commonly used in hospitals, banks, and other institutions.

In this context, many smartphones manufacturers want to add the most accurate thermometer to their phones.

An optoelectronics specialist at the Korean Institute of Science and Technology, Professor Jun Wen Choi, has developed a trustable, low-cost optical sensor that is free from other defects of the past. This sensor does not require any additional systems to cool down. This minor sensor can be easily mounted in a smartphone’s camera.

Sensor made of Vanadium dioxide absorbs Infrared radiations and converts it into electric signals, which in turn reflects heat in numbers. It is so sensitive that it converts heat into an electrical signal three times more accurately than a normal sensor.

Even if the temperature is 100 degrees Celsius, it shows its readings in just three milliseconds. Due to its high speed, it can also be used in automobiles.

Whether it’s a heart attack or a stroke, timely treatment is crucial to preventing a stroke and saving lives. In this regard, an ultrasound sticker has now been developed.

Sheng Zu, a professor at the University of California, San Diego, cut the thin elastic polymer into 12-millimeter-wide and long pieces that emit ultrasound waves. It is currently processed by a computer by attaching a wire to a chest or neck, but the next model could be wireless.

In the initial experiment, ultrasound waves reached five and a half inches deep in the skin. In the second method, many ultrasound waves were thrown at different angles. Therefore the ultrasound of a large part of the body came to light. In this way, the sound waves pass through the blood vessels and reach the blood cells, then return to the sticker through the same path.

Consequently, the sound echoes from different parts of the body hide blood flow, blood pressure, tissue health, and heart conditions. This way the doctor can immediately detect any alarming changes in the heart and its veins.

It has been tested on many patients and has shown excellent results similar to conventional ultrasound. The consequences may differ depending on the performance of the common person, but the patch has no part in this chaos. However, clear instructions for affixing a sticker can yield better results. An innovative sticker can provide immediate awareness of stroke and heart disease.

With the start of the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Google has changed its doodle on the homepage and launched the “Champions Island Games” which can be played online. This doodle championship will last for a week.

These are 16-bit video games developed in collaboration with the Japanese animation company Studio 4° C. All the video games in this championship consist of the games played in the Olympics, while each game highlights the Japanese landscape, society, civilization, and culture.

The main character of these games is a ninja cat called “Calico” which is controlled by the user himself. The championship has a total of seven small online games, including skateboarding, table tennis, and wall climbing, each of which has a “legendary champion” who can only be defeated by winning the final stage.

The games are arranged like a cartoon movie in which “Calico” ninja cat arrives on an island where the sports championship is being held. Calico competes in the same championship. Like the doodle games created in the past, these games can only be played online in the browser.

Belated and the virus-delayed Tokyo Olympics finally opened Friday night with cascading fireworks and made-for-TV choreography that unfolded in a near-empty stadium, a colorful but strangely subdued ceremony. Only 950 VIPs were present to witness the best performances of dance and graphics.

The Games were formally inaugurated by Emperor Naruhito of Japan and Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka received the Olympic flame from a torch relay through the stadium and lit the Olympic cauldron.

“Today is a moment of hope. Yes, it is very different from what all of us had imagined,” IOC President Thomas Bach said. “But let us cherish this moment because finally, we are all here together”, Bach declared.

Early in the ceremony, an ethereal blue light bathed the empty seats as loud music muted the shouts of scattered protesters outside calling for the Games to be canceled. A single-stage held an octagon shape meant to resemble the country’s fabled Mount Fuji. Later, an orchestral medley of songs from iconic Japanese video games served as the soundtrack for athletes’ entrances.

Mostly masked athletes waved enthusiastically to thousands of empty seats and to a world, hungry to watch them compete. Some athletes marched socially distanced, while others clustered in ways utterly contrary to organizers’ hopes.

Organizers held a moment of silence for those who had died in the pandemic; as it ticked off and the music paused, the sounds of the protests echoed in the distance.

But with people still falling ill and dying each day from the coronavirus, there’s a particular urgency to the questions about whether the Olympic flame can burn away the fear or provide a measure of catharsis. For a night, at least, the glamor and message of hope of the opening ceremony may distract many global viewers from the surrounding anguish and anger.

  • Kpavogur, Iceland,

A man who underwent the first full double arm transplant in the world has revealed that the surgery was successful. Felix Gretarrson, 49, from the town of Kpavogur in Iceland, lost both arms after he got electrocuted while trying to fix a power line in 1998.

Felix’s both arms were set on fire and doctors had to operate on him 54 times while he was in a coma for three months. The injuries were so serious that doctors had to remove both of his arms to save his life.

After coming out of the coma, the electrician fell into substance abuse to deal with the trauma of the accident.

In 2007, Felix saw an advertisement on TV for a lecture at the University of Iceland by renowned surgeon Dr Jean-Michel Dubernard who is known for performing the first successful hand transplant in 1998. Dr Dubernard told him that there was a possibility of performing the operation, but he would need to move to France for the preparations.

The surgeon accepted his application four years later after which he launched a fundraising campaign to arrange money for the operation.

On the 23 year anniversary of his accident on January 12 this year, Felix had a double arm and shoulder transplant in a 15-hour surgery.

After hundreds of hours of rehabilitation work, Felix can now move his arms. He is now fighting to hug his children again and his wife and grandchildren for the first time.

“The first thing I thought was who the f**k does this on purpose, because the pain when I woke up was so excruciating. It was like there was two trucks parked on each of my shoulders. Having been through hospitalization before I kind of knew the first time it feels like the end of the world and that you’re going to be a patient for the rest of your life. But when you recover you know it’s just temporary this s**t will pass so I put my heels down and put my head down,” Felix was quoted according to Daily Star.

He said, “The feeling in the nerves can be a little painful when they grow. If you poke my arm I can feel the nerves inside even if I can’t feel the skin.”

He added, “I am moving the elbow in water, my bicep is now working and that’s only five months after. I just noticed the veins in my arms are starting to expand in the heat and that doesn’t happen unless automatic nervous system is working. I am so hopeful that I am going to be able to move my hands as well which nobody expected, except me.”

He was laying on his back in recovery for six weeks.

In March, Felix was moved to rehabilitation. His body rejected the new limbs twice and he even got a painful skin fungus, however, Felix beat the odds and is making incredible progress.

Doctors said that nerves grow on average a millimeter every day. They estimate the nerves will reach his elbow in a year and his hands in two.

“I have achieved something that wasn’t supposed to be possible if I wouldn’t have pushed it and pushed it,” Felix said.

  • San Francisco/ Web Desk:

YouTube had announced to provide some amazing and revolutionary features and now in this regard, YouTube Live Streaming has introduced the option of shopping, which is being used by certain users.

It aims to increase e-commerce and monetization facilities. YouTube announced earlier this year that it would offer online shopping options on its platform. Currently only serious and reputable brand makers are given the option to try. The goal was to instantly purchase standard products from YouTube.

YouTube has previously said in its research that 33% of its users have admitted that they are buying 33% of the items just by looking at the comments and advertisements on YouTube.

During a pandemic, YouTube through its platform has made an extraordinary effort to strengthen and promote E-commerce. Various product tags and ads will be added as a new option. This can be done automatically, while video stream makers will be able to add it themselves.

Therefore, it is to be expected that the YouTube app could be an E-commerce machine and users will be able to purchase items in video clips, but its popularity will have to wait a few months.
